Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 – New Encryption For Your Online Banking Services

About Transport Layer Security (TLS)
Transport Layer Security (TLS) is one of many layers of security your computer uses in order to provide privacy and data integrity. Our Personal and Business Online Banking also use TLS as a key component of its security. TLS 1.2, the most current version and considered by industry experts to be the most secure, is now available – replacing TLS 1.0 and 1.1.

Effective April 9, 2018 Waterford’s Online Banking will require TLS 1.2. security encryption. This is enabled by default with most current browsers.

If you start having problems with Online Banking as of this date, the TLS setting is the first place to look. If you are not using the most current version of your browser, please upgrade to that first and see if it fixes the problem.

If you have questions or require assistance with enabling TLS 1.2, we encourage you to contact us here or give us a call at 419-720-3900 or toll-free at 866-707-2871.
