Reports show that in 2019 there were nearly 13 million women-owned businesses in the United States, generating over $1.9 trillion in revenues and employing nearly 9.4 million people. With women professionals largely growing our local workforce, Waterford Bank felt the need to have a supportive network open to enabling their cause. As a result, we formed the Women of Waterford Foundation or Wow Foundation in early 2014 with the mission of “empowering women through education, community service, and professional enrichment.”
Through the Foundation we work with a talented local network of women professionals, in and out of the Bank, who bring their diverse skills and knowledge to the various projects we undertake. From our educational seminars to our community based philanthropic efforts, Wow has made serious strides in empowering women and enjoyed wide spread recognition throughout Northwest Ohio.
Looking back on the Foundation’s accomplishments, we have helped a vast number of local and global organizations, all the while fueling our mission of empowering women. Some of the organizations we have worked with include:
- Reagan Delaney Tokes Memorial Foundation
- Mom’s House
- Susan G. Komen
- Graham’s Foundation
- Aurora House
- MAAM – Martial Arts for the Advancement of Mindfulness
- The Cocoon Shelter
- Bethany House
- Habitat for Humanity
- Bittersweet Farms
- Perrysburg Christian United
- Girl Scouts of Western Ohio
As we work towards carrying out our mission, we invite you to join with and help us grow. For more information, connect with us today.
